The 2023 NCECA Collectors Tour promises an exciting week of experiences specially curated for avid, emerging to experienced collectors of ceramic art. Centered in the itinerary are insider opportunities to collect from dozens of exhibitions sited throughout Greater Cincinnati during Current, the 57th annual NCECA conference. Exclusive studio and collection visits, curator and creative community connections will also be threaded throughout the week along with shared meals. (Two dinners, and four lunches are included).
Commencing with an opening dinner on Monday evening, March 13, and concluding Saturday, March 18, 2023, registration will be limited to no more than 30 people. Participants will gain early access to thoughtfully selected exhibitions and enjoy purchasing opportunities while sharing meals, conversations, and thought provoking presentations with an evolving daily line-up of dynamic, informed, and engaging special guests. Travel throughout the region will be provided to most locations via luxury motorcoach. Smaller vehicles may be used to reach special destinations.
Every minute of the tour will foster relationships around shared passions, opening new insights into ceramic art’s evolution as well as the work and people involved in its exhibition, creation, and appreciation. Current can be a flow of electrons, a force of water, a moment in time. Current invites us to consider how working with clay leads us to engage in worlds of continuity and continual change. The river is an essential and enduring feature of Cincinnati’s history and evolution. Current predates the history of human creation and transports artifacts, stories, ideas through time to future generations. Ceramic artworks embody currents that carry diverse traditions of invention and renewal.
